April 15, 2008 Please be advised that the OK KOSHER CERTIFICATION has done an extensive investigation and testing of the Nori used in Trader Joe's Oriental Rice Crackers and Norimake Crackers. Lab results and examination by an expert in "toilaim" in Israel confirm that the Nori used in the Trader Joe's products has no problem of infestation whatsoever. We regret any inconvenience caused to consumers by our earlier kosher alert, but in this instance we felt it necessary to err on the side of caution until we could verify 100% that there was no problem with the product. Trader Joe's rice crackers will continue to carry the OK symbol on their labels. Although the Tropicana juice contains only a very small amount of the fish oil, we feel an obligation to bring it to the attention of kosher consumers who rely on the OK. Chazal tell us that it is a danger to eat fish and meat together. We therefore requested that Tropicana label this juice with an F designation, and they have complied. The certified Pure Premium Ruby Red Grapefruit Juice contains no carmine. Other Tropicana Ruby Red Grapefruit juices are NOT kosher and do NOT bear the OK symbol on the label. Carmine (as well as juice concentrates including grape) is clearly listed in the ingredients list on the containers. The non-kosher Ruby Red juices are packed in shelf- stable plastic containers, and are easily differentiated from the certified products. February 1, 2006 Dear Consumers, Currently we have a very unusual situation with the Domino Dots®/Cubes as it relates to Kosher certification. I will try to explain. Due to Hurricane Katrina our Chalmette, LA Refinery has been out of production. Our Chalmette, LA Refinery, like all Domino facilities and Domino brands is certified by Organized Kashrus Laboratories with either the Circle K or Circle Kp symbols. Since we lost packaging capabilities in Chalmette, we had to have Domino Dots®/Cubes produced in our Crockett, CA refinery on a temporary basis. This Crockett, CA facility is certified Kosher through Star K. Because the Domino brand is one Kosher symbol and the California facility is another we could not use either symbol on this temporary package. However, I can assure you that this product was produced using Kosher sugar in a Kosher facility, but we cannot claim Kosher certification on the package.
